Repurposing

I spent the day at home with my daughter and a couple of her friends where we did Repurposing Art with old plastic (Barbie) horses. These dolls would otherwise be destined to end up in some junk pile somewhere, never decomposing.

For me, everything about the day was good: Watching the girls remain focused on their art piece; witnessing the transformation of the pink and white plastic into something beautiful; sitting in on their conversations; listening to my daughter’s favorite tunes; and making art from would-be waste.

I am looking around the house and my life now, considering what else might need repurposing.

Nothing is exempt.
